← All exercises Exercise Medicine Ball Rotational Throw Plyometric | Advanced
Standing sideways to a wall, a medicine ball is thrown explosively using a rotation of the hips and trunk, training rotational power for throwing and striking sports.
Tips & instructions Instructions
Drive the rotation from the hips first, letting the arms and the ball follow rather than leading with the arms alone.
Safety
Warm up the trunk rotation pattern without the ball first — the explosive nature of this throw is unforgiving of a cold, stiff back.
Muscle groups Primary: Obliques
Secondary: Upper Abs
